The short answer
Digiton is a custom AI development company that works with Luxembourg firms remotely and on site by arrangement. We build retrieval systems, document pipelines and full AI products around your own data, and we test them under load before launch. Every build is scored against a ten-layer production standard, and you keep the code and the cloud accounts.
What a Luxembourg search for custom AI returns
We recorded the Luxembourg results for this search on 3 October 2026. Seven of the ten were lists of companies: two directories, three listicles, and the AI start-up lists kept by Luxinnovation and the University of Luxembourg. The other three were development firms' own pages.
A list gives you names. Ask each firm for a system it built that still runs, then ask who gets paged when it breaks at night. Ours is Parci, Digiton's own platform. It reads planning rules for 300 of 308 Portuguese municipalities through hybrid retrieval, and a verification agent rejects any draft whose claims don't match the cited source.
Before you sign: six questions for any custom AI developer
- Where will the model, the vector store and the background workers run, and under which contract?
- How is every answer checked before a user sees it?
- What happens to the system at ten times today's traffic? Has anyone tested it?
- Which secrets could leak through the frontend bundle?
- Who can read which rows in the database, and where is that enforced?
- How will you know about an error before a customer emails you?
These map onto six of the ten layers in Digiton's production standard. Our custom AI development service page covers the full list.
Luxembourg funding and a custom build
Two Luxembourg programmes name AI directly, and neither one was written for a custom platform.
The SME Packages AI scheme reimburses 70% of a project worth up to EUR 25,000 excluding VAT, and its stated aim is helping SMEs integrate existing AI solutions. A narrow integration fits that wording. A multi-month platform build usually won't fit under the ceiling, and whether a provider registered outside Luxembourg qualifies is not confirmed.
Fit 4 AI pays part of an analysis by a consultant approved by Luxinnovation, and that roadmap covers the choice between a generic and a custom AI solution. Digiton is not an approved Fit 4 AI consultant, and the programme doesn't fund the build. The Luxembourg overview has the rest of the local rules.
Hosting rules for financial firms
Cloud contract clauses. In April 2025 the CSSF repealed the specific contract clauses it had required for cloud computing providers, including a contract governed by the law of an EEA member state, so that firms in and outside DORA's scope follow the same rule.
Outsourcing notification. Firms in DORA's scope apply Circular CSSF 22/806, with its prior notification when a critical or important function is outsourced, only to business process outsourcing. Their ICT outsourcing follows DORA and Circular CSSF 25/882. Firms outside DORA apply 22/806 to both.
So a build starts with two questions: which function the system supports, and which side of DORA your firm sits on. Confirm the scope with your compliance function or the CSSF.

Frequently asked questions
What does a Google search for a custom AI developer in Luxembourg return?
In the results we recorded on 3 October 2026, seven of the ten were directories, listicles or start-up lists, and three were development firms' own pages. Use the lists to build a shortlist, then ask each firm for a system it built that still runs.
Can SME Packages AI fund a custom AI platform?
Rarely in full. The project has to sit between EUR 3,000 and EUR 25,000 excluding VAT, and the scheme's stated aim is integrating existing AI solutions. Whether a provider outside Luxembourg qualifies is also unconfirmed, so check at the pre-analysis.
Do we own the code?
Yes. The repository, cloud accounts and documentation sit in your organisation from the start. We work inside them.
Can you take over a system another firm or our own team built?
Yes. The five-day production review tells you what holds and what doesn't before anyone commits to a rebuild.
How does a project with Digiton start?
With a free 25-minute scoping call. If there's an existing codebase, the next step is a paid production review: five working days inside your repository and cloud account, a score on all ten layers, one load test, and a fix list priced line by line. Then a build with a fixed scope, then operations, run by us or handed to your team.
Do you come to Luxembourg?
When it helps, by arrangement. Discovery workshops and handovers are worth doing in person. Most build work happens remotely.
