Best AI consulting companies in Lisbon, 2026

Eight firms make this list: Digiton Dynamics, DareData, Twistag, Closer Consulting, Mindalizer, NILG.AI, Mobian, and ZTABS. Every site was live when we checked in August 2026, and every description below sticks to facts each company publishes itself. Two firms serve Lisbon with no local office. One is based in Porto. We say so in each case.

First, the disclosure. This guide is published by Digiton Dynamics, one of the eight firms on it. We kept each entry to what the company states on its own website, flagged who actually sits in Lisbon, and put ourselves through the same filter. Read it as a map drawn by one of the locals, then click through and check.

How we picked the eight

Three filters. The website had to be live in August 2026. The firm had to name AI consulting or AI engineering as core work, with checkable facts on the page (clients, partners, dates, counts) instead of adjectives. And the Lisbon claim had to survive a look: ZTABS and Mobian serve the city remotely, NILG.AI works from Porto, so each entry says where the firm really sits.

1. Digiton Dynamics

Digiton (digiton.ai) calls itself an AI infrastructure company in Lisbon. The work is AI operations: automation that watches inboxes, routes leads into a CRM, drafts replies for human review, and reports what moved. Digiton also builds product. Parci, its real estate platform, reads Portuguese municipal planning documents and sells at 29, 149, and 499 euros a month. The typical client is a services or property business that wants automation running daily with a human approving every send. Yes, this is our own entry. Judge it against the other seven.

2. DareData

DareData (daredata.ai) is a Lisbon-headquartered, remote-first AI consultancy. It runs AI discovery and assessment work, builds MVPs in 4 to 8 week cycles, and operates GenOS, its own platform for governing generative AI in production. The site lists Google Cloud, Microsoft, and NVIDIA partnerships plus a Deloitte Fast 50 Portugal listing in 2025. Client logos include Heineken, Roche, EDP, and NOS, where DareData reports 65 percent of invoices processed automatically. Best fit: enterprises that want classical machine learning and generative AI handled by one partner.

3. Twistag

Twistag (twistag.com) has built products from Av. Berna 30 in Lisbon since 2016. The agency covers agentic AI systems, data platforms, and full product engineering for web and mobile. Its case studies carry numbers: an AI radio project that generated 700,000 songs and reached 2.4 billion plays, and a European hospitality group that cut staffing spend by 70 percent. The typical client wants an AI feature shipped inside a real product, with the app around it built to the same standard.

4. Closer Consulting

Closer (closer.pt) is a Lisbon data science consultancy with a team of more than 350 people. Its expertise runs from data engineering and business intelligence through actuarial science to AI, across aeronautics and defence, energy, telecom, retail, and the public sector. It also sells packaged products, including Smart Factory, an AI offering for industrial clients. Best fit: large organisations that want bench depth and a partner able to staff a full data programme.

5. Mindalizer

Mindalizer (mindalizer.com) is a boutique in Parque das Nações, founded in 2014 by Rui Pereira after two decades in financial services at Barclays Iberia and Banco BPI. The team stays at 5 to 12 senior consultants on purpose. It builds multi-agent systems and RAG pipelines in 6 to 12 week engagements, redesigns operational workflows around Jira, and audits websites for LLM readiness. The client list includes Barclays, Santander, MetLife, and CGD. Best fit: financial services firms and agencies that want senior people on every call.

6. NILG.AI

NILG.AI (nilg.ai) works from Porto, so it earns its slot here with reach rather than a Lisbon address. Its homepage counts 211 clients across 30 industries and 25 countries. The firm covers AI strategy consulting, automations, custom AI software, and professional training, with machine learning, computer vision, and forecasting in the toolkit. Best fit: companies anywhere in Portugal that want a business-centric AI partner and a team that also trains internal staff.

7. Mobian

Mobian (mobian.studio) is a software development partner registered in Tallinn, Estonia, serving Lisbon clients remotely. It builds mobile products and AI systems on RAG and LLM architectures, under two models: outsourcing, where Mobian owns delivery end to end, and outstaffing, where its engineers join your team. Domain focus sits in healthcare, fintech, logistics, and IT. There is no Lisbon office. Best fit: teams that want senior European build capacity and are comfortable working remote.

8. ZTABS

ZTABS (ztabs.co) is remote-first and says so plainly: the site states it keeps no local office in Lisbon and is explicit about that with every client. It targets the city's tourism tech, fintech, and proptech sectors with engineers working WET business hours. The site claims 500+ projects delivered since 2015 and lists senior AI engineers at 90 to 140 dollars an hour. Services run from AI readiness audits and roadmaps to LLM integration and RAG systems. Best fit: startups that want senior AI engineering without paying for a Lisbon address.

How to choose between them

Start with geography, honestly weighed. Six of the eight have a Portuguese base, and two (ZTABS, Mobian) are remote by design. If your project needs workshops in a room in Lisbon, that cuts the list fast. If it needs shipped code, remote-first can be a price advantage, and ZTABS publishes its 90 to 140 dollar hourly band where most local firms publish nothing.

Then match the engagement type. Twistag and Mobian build products. Closer staffs programmes at 350-person scale. Mindalizer and NILG.AI mix advisory with implementation. Digiton runs the operations layer after the build. A 6-week strategy sprint and a 12-month data programme are different purchases, and firms priced for one rarely fit the other.

Last, test the facts. Every firm here publishes at least one checkable number, from DareData's 65 percent invoice automation at NOS to Twistag's 2.4 billion plays. Ask any shortlisted firm for one named client and one measured result. The answer takes two minutes and filters harder than any deck.
